In Singapore, more than 9,700 people had bought Lehman-linked structured notes worth over S$500 million. Many were retires who had invested their life-savings. In possibly the biggest turn-out ever at The Speaker's Corner, 1,000 irate Singaporeans gathered to hear what advice former NTUC Income chief, Tan Kin Lian had to give. The questions came fast and furious: What can be done to help the investors who have burnt their hands? Who is responsible for the mess so far? And most importantly Who is going to protect me?
